The Ministers’ Council is a vital spiritual and organizational body within a church conference, made up of all ministers credentialed under the authority of the conference. It exists to foster unity, integrity, and effectiveness in ministry, while providing a space for mutual support, spiritual growth, accountability, and theological reflection.

Purpose & Objectives:

To uphold the spiritual integrity, ethical standards, and calling of the ministry.

To foster unity, fellowship, and accountability among pastors and church leaders.

To provide guidance and input on theological, pastoral, and leadership matters affecting the conference.

To participate in credentialing processes, such as ordination and licensing evaluations.

To offer care and support for ministers in times of transition, conflict, or personal need.
Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Nurture: Organizing retreats, prayer meetings, and workshops for ministerial renewal.

Credentialing Support: Assisting the Ministerial Leadership Committee (or equivalent body) in recommending or reviewing candidates for ministry.

Ethical Oversight: Helping address concerns related to ministerial conduct or conflict resolution.

Advisory Role: Offering insights to the Executive Committee or Conference Board on issues impacting pastoral ministry and church health.
Membership & Structure:

Open to all active and credentialed ministers in the conference and active members of MCI

Led by an elected Chairperson, with roles like Secretary, Treasure, and committee members as needed.

The Ministers’ Council embodies a collective commitment to faithful servant leadership, encouraging ministers to walk humbly, lead wisely, and care deeply for their congregations and communities.
