 Know central mennonite Christian women committee 

The Central Mennonite Christian Women Committee is a Christ-centered, conference-level ministry team that unites, equips, and empowers women within the Mennonite church to grow in faith, serve their communities, and lead in various areas of ministry. It is rooted in Anabaptist values and shaped by the vision of women as active disciples, peacemakers, and spiritual leaders.

Purpose & Objectives:
  • To uphold the spiritual integrity, ethical standards, and calling of the ministry.

  • To foster unity, fellowship, and accountability among Womes.

  • To provide guidance and input on theological, pastoral, and leadership matters affecting the conference.

  • To participate in credentialing processes.

  • To offer care and support to confernce

Core Responsibilities:

Spiritual Formation:

  • Organizes women’s prayer meetings, Bible studies, and spiritual retreats.

  • Encourages personal devotion and Christlike character.

 Leadership Development:

  • Trains and mentors women for leadership roles in the church and society.

  • Supports young women through guidance, education, and skill-building.

 Fellowship & Networking:

  • Hosts regional and central women's conferences, conventions, and gatherings.

  • Builds bridges between women of different congregations and communities.

 Service & Outreach:

  •  Coordinates charitable projects such as hospital visits, food/clothing drives, or support for widows.

  • Promotes involvement in local missions and social work.

 Representation & Voice:

  • Represents women’s concerns and perspectives in the wider church conference.

  • Collaborates with the Executive Committee and other church departments.

Committee Structure:
  • President

  • Vice-President

  • Four Committee members (Prayer Cell, Sister Care Cell, Pahal Project, Church Visiting)

Roles of the Three Members

  ​(A) Prayer Cell:

  1. The primary purpose of the Prayer Cell is to bring people closer to God and pray for their spiritual growth and service to the Lord.

  2. Each week, the Central Prayer Cell In-charge will assign a prayer topic to the women of one unit church of MCI.

  3. Share the name, photo, and church name of the prayer warrior along with an audio of their prayer on the official WhatsApp group.

  4. On special occasions, encourage and call women to participate in chain prayers and fasting prayers.

  5. Pray with burden and compassion for people who are troubled or suffering due to various challenges.

(B) Sister Care Cell:

  1. Visit each church under the Mennonite Church in India (MCI) as needed and provide information to the women about the Sister Care ministry.

  2. Meet with sisters who are hurting, distressed, or going through struggles.

  3. Offer counseling and support by connecting struggling women to suitable individuals or leaders who can help.

  4. Support women who are economically struggling through the Pahal Project and help them become self-reliant.

  5. Encourage all women to join the Prayer Cell so they can uplift and support one another in prayer.

(C) Pahal Project:

  1. Identify women who are economically weak, connect them to the Pahal initiative, encourage them to work based on their skills and interests, and provide a platform to sell their handmade products.

  2. Appoint local-level Pahal In-charges to promote the project in their regions.

  3. Ensure and approve the quality and pricing of items to be sold.

  4. Provide the participating women with a proper marketing network to promote their products.

  5. Maintain a registration logbook and record all financial transactions in detail.

  6. With the permission of the Central Women President and MCI Secretary, arrange for Pahal stalls at various Mennonite events.

 The Central Mennonite Christian Women Committee exists to nurture a vibrant community of women who live out the gospel through prayer, leadership, compassion, and courage, transforming their families, churches, and the world.

The Central Officers of the Women’s Committee are a team of elected women leaders who are responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all spiritual, social, and service-related activities for women across the conference. They lead the vision and functioning of the Central Mennonite Christian Women Committee.
